With the application deadline, you can control how long candidates can apply for a job. This helps you manage the application period without having to archive the job immediately.
The feature is available in all onlyfy product packages.
When is the application deadline useful?
The application deadline helps you manage incoming applications more precisely. For example, when you want to:
- receive applications only until a specific date
- stop receiving additional applications once the hire is secured
- keep a job visible without allowing new applications
Activate an application deadline
Every job now includes the new option Set application deadline.
By default, the application deadline is deactivated. This means candidates can continue to apply.
You can activate the application deadline in two ways:
Stop applications immediately
Use this option to stop receiving new applications right away. From this moment on, candidates can no longer submit applications for the job.
Schedule an application deadline
Use this option to define a specific point in time after which new applications are no longer possible. Until then, candidates can complete the application process as usual.
What happens when the deadline is reached?
Once the application deadline is reached, no new applications can be submitted. Already submitted applications remain available and can still be processed by recruiters.
Candidates will see a warning:
- in the job ad
- in the application form
The warning informs them that applications for this job are no longer possible.
Which application channels are blocked?
After the application deadline is reached, new applications are blocked for the following channels:
- online applications
- email applications
- API and feed applications
- invite-to-apply functionalities in XING Talent Recommendations
- invitations to apply for a job
Manually assigning candidates to a job is still possible. For example, you can continue to assign a prospect from the talent pool to a job.
Good to know
The application deadline stops new applications, but it does not automatically cancel active job ads. The job can remain visible while you continue processing already submitted applications.
