Have you just purchased the employer branding profile on XING and kununu and now want to get started with setting it up?
In this comprehensive guide, we show you how it's done and give you valuable tips on how to make your company profile on XING shine and take advantage of all the features.
This is how you proceed:
- Before you get started with profile maintenance on XING, log in to XING.
- On the left side you will find the menu. Click on "Companies".
- In the upper area, you will see direct access to the team administration and the BrandManager. If you have not yet created a company profile, you can do so by clicking the "Create free employer profile" button.
- If you are already editor or administrator of a company profile, click on the button "Managing".
- Now select your company.
The profile will be upgraded to an Employer Branding profile at the start of the contract period. From then on, the extended editing options will be available to you.

Access to "Companies" or the BrandManager is gradually being moved from the home page navigation to the "Insights" navigation item. The menu bar of the company profile on XING consists of the tabs:
- "About us",
- "Employer reviews & culture",
- "Jobs",
- "News",
- "Employees",
- "Location" and
- "Contact".
You can edit, rearrange or hide the tabs as you see fit in BrandManager (Core and Pro only).
General
Header, logo and a detailed "About Us" description (at least 150 characters) are the foundation of your company's presence.
Logo
We recommend providing the company logo as an image in a ratio of 1:1 (e.g. 300 x 300 pixels / 32 px).
Please note that your logo is displayed in a shape (super ellipse). This shape is a XING standard for displaying logos and profile pictures. Therefore, consider a distance to the edge when preparing the image. For an image of 300x300 px, for example, this is 32 px.
We use your logo within XING as a distinctive feature to represent your company (e.g. in a post). Please keep in mind that this logo is used in many different sizes. For this reason, pay special attention to readability.
We offer a cropping tool when you upload the image to fine-tune the size.
Title / header image
An impressive and appealing title image is part of a well-rounded first impression.
- Allowed formats: JPEG, PNG
- File size: max. 5 MB
- Image size: min. 1280x720 px
- Ideal ratio: 16:9
Slogan
Add your slogan under your company name - or the essence of your site in a few words.
About us
Present your most important products and / or services here. Also, to improve the discoverability of your page (SEO), use keywords that your target audience might be looking for in your brief description (minimum 150 characters).
You can enter both a short and a detailed description – or just the latter, in which case we'll use the first sentences as your short description. Additionally, support your vision with images, videos and documents.
The "About Us" section gives a short excerpt of all displayed tabs of the employer profile. All information about each section can be viewed in the next step ("Show more").
Description
Click on "Show more" and then the "pencil icon" to enter a
- "Brief description" (maximum 350 characters, superscript numbers are also possible),
- as well as "Detailed description" (no character limit) in the respective tabs.
Company summary
To edit the company summary, click on the "pencil icon". Now you can add and edit company details (i.e. website, industry etc.)
Media
You have the possibility to enhance your company profile with pictures and videos.
To do so, click on the "pencil icon". In the editing area of the gallery you can manage media (change order, edit or delete) or add more pictures or videos.

Image gallery
An unlimited number of images can be uploaded in the image gallery.
- Allowed formats: JPEG, PNG
- File size: max. 5 MB
- Image size: min. 1280x720 px
- Ideal ratio: 16:9
- Maximum number of images: no limitation
- The order in which the images are displayed can be determined by the user.
Video
- Allowed formats: AVI, MOV or MP4
- File size: max. 5 GB
- Ideal ratio: 16:9
- Maximum number of videos: no limitation
- The order in which videos are displayed can be determined by the user.
You can add a custom preview image for your video. Otherwise, a still image from the video will be displayed.
It is also possible to add subtitles to your video. Therefore, you can upload a suitable Web VTT or SRT file for English and German.
Awards
All awards that are stored in your kununu profile are listed here.
Documents
Documents must be uploaded directly to XING - links are not possible.
- Allowed formats: PDF only
- File size: max. 100 MB
- Maximum number of documents: no restriction
- Name of document: minimum 1 and maximum 35 characters

For example, state your company claim, your mission or the most important products or services. Use terms that your target group also uses. This will make the page easier to find on Google & Co. You can enter a short description and a detailed description here - or just a detailed description: then its first sentences will be displayed as a short description.

Affiliates
Add subsidiaries or sister companies here, for example - but also customers, service providers, etc.
Important: These companies must also have a XING company page and should have agreed to the link beforehand. In addition, you can determine the order in the editing window (three-line-icon).
News
In the "News" tab you can always keep interested visitors and subscribers up to date and share interesting facts from your company. To make it even more interesting, you can include photos and videos. This way, you'll catch the eye of jobseekers faster and can also authentically show what everyday working life is like at your company.

Jobs
All job ads that you have placed on XING are automatically displayed here. You do not need to do anything else. If the jobs are not displayed, please contact our Customer Service.
Employer reviews & culture
The information on corporate culture, ratings and employee benefits comes directly from your kununu profile. You don't need to do anything else.
Ideal employer
Profile visitors can name your company as an employer of choice. This function can be activated and deactivated in BrandManager at any time. A detailed overview of these individuals can be found in TalentManager (must be purchased separately).

You can find the number of visitors who have named your company as an employer of choice in BrandManager. Likewise, the number of page visits and followers.

Employees
This section lists all employees who have entered your company as their current employer in their personal XING profile. If a person is no longer working for your company or does not belong to it, please contact our Customer Service.
Contact / contact person
Here you can enter up to 10 contacts / contact persons including a short description (maximum 50 characters) from your company or for press inquiries, applications, questions about culture and benefits. The first two contacts in this list will not only appear on the "Contacts" subpage, but also on the overview of your XING page. Click on the "pencil icon" to edit the contacts, add new contacts, or change the order.
Location
Here you can easily enter your address. This will then be taken over and additionally displayed in a map.
